Hillary Clinton accused President Donald J. Trump and the MAGA movement of what she called deep “moral rot” in a new essay published Thursday in The Atlantic.
In “MAGA’s War on Empathy,” Clinton argued that Trump’s supporters have abandoned core Christian values, citing recent clashes in Minnesota involving federal immigration agents and ongoing investigations into two fatal shootings in Minneapolis.
She claimed cruelty has become a defining feature of the movement, writing that “compassion is weak and cruelty is strong” has turned into an “article of MAGA faith.”
Clinton also referenced Scripture, accusing Christian nationalism within MAGA of twisting Christianity away from teachings of mercy, dignity, and loving one’s neighbor.
