Actress Danica McKellar, best known as Winnie Cooper from The Wonder Years, says the biggest change in her life has happened off-screen.
After embracing Christianity about three and a half years ago, she says she’s found a new kind of peace. “From the outside, it might not look that different,” she said at the Movieguide Faith & Values Awards, “but it’s all those moments in between.”
Now she’s focused on making uplifting, family-friendly films with outlets like Great American Family and Pure Flix. McKellar says there’s a real demand for this kind of content, adding that many viewers want something that will make them “feel good afterwards.”
She also says faith has helped her let go of constant stress about controlling outcomes. Instead, she plans, works hard, and then “turn[s] it over to God,” which has given her “a lot more peace in between all the things.”
