Dennis Quaid’s Journey from Addiction to Faith

Dennis Quaid opened up about his past, admitting he was using cocaine “pretty much on a daily basis” in the ’80s—even while his career was booming.

He would cry out to God, “Please take this away from me,” but kept falling back into it.

Even after getting sober, he said, “you still have that same hole to fill.” What changed everything for him was going back to the Bible.

He said it was the words of Jesus that finally hit him: “That was the beginning of my personal relationship with Jesus Christ.”

And from that point on, things started to shift—not just externally, but deep inside.

He said, “We’re all looking for the joy of life.” Drugs may give it fast, but only God truly fills that deeper emptiness.
