Evangelist Shane Pruitt is criticizing what he calls the growing “normalization” of indecent exposure at major public events after viral clips showed Grammy-winning singer Chappell Roan appearing topless on the red carpet.
Pruitt, the SBC’s director of next gen evangelism for NAMB, said laws against indecent exposure should still apply when children are present at ceremonies, parades, and award shows, calling the trend “nothing short of demonic.”
Roan wore a sheer outfit that exposed her breasts and later posted a full-frontal image to her 7.6 million Instagram followers, dismissing critics and saying the look was “awesome and weird.”
Pruitt followed his remarks by emphasizing that no one is beyond Jesus’ forgiveness and urged young people to be shaped more by the gospel than celebrity culture.
