Faith Amid Conflict in Israel

In her 2026 State Address, Sarah Huckabee Sanders shared a sobering reflection on Israel marked by conflict, noting that in just one year, people have lived through “five wars with Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis,” along with the war with Iran and ongoing unrest.

This year’s Easter, she said, looks very different—“the sunrise service at the Garden Tomb is canceled,” and even when churches gather, they are limited to small groups due to safety concerns.

Yet despite the somber atmosphere, the message was not despair but faith: “my faith is fueled not by how full the churches… it is fueled by the emptiness of the tomb.”

She urged listeners to hold onto that truth above all: “Jesus is our living hope”—not only personally, but for the state and the nation.

As America marks 250 years, she called for unity, reminding that despite differences, “our shared faith, our shared values… is stronger and more important than any difference.”
