Dr. LaTanya Moore went viral in 2023 after ending her nearly 20-year membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., saying her decision was driven by her Christian faith.
Moore told CBN News she became concerned about the sorority’s symbolic ties to Minerva, the Roman goddess, and initiation rituals that included oaths, bowing at an altar, and songs she believes conflicted with biblical worship. “We’re only supposed to worship one God,” she said.
She claims God revealed her membership had opened spiritual “doors” in her life and that renouncing it brought deliverance, including what she describes as supernatural healing and financial blessing.
Though she has faced criticism, Moore says her decision isn’t about attacking the sorority but about choosing to “be fully one with the true and living God.”
