Florida Suspends Nurse’s License Over Leavitt Video

Florida has issued an emergency suspension of the nursing license of Alexis Backer Lawler, the former labor and delivery nurse who posted a video wishing severe childbirth injury on White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.

Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo ordered the suspension, and Attorney General James Uthmeier praised the move, calling Lawler’s remarks an “ethical red line.”

Lawler was fired last week from Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital after making vulgar comments about Leavitt’s delivery and later doubling down online.
