Franklin Graham Calls for Nationwide Prayer and Repentance

Evangelist Franklin Graham is urging Christians nationwide to unite in prayer and repentance on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at noon, saying the country is facing a profound spiritual crisis.

“If you think our nation is in trouble now, just wait,” Graham warned, pointing to streets he says are “boiling over with hate, anger, crime, drugs, and just sheer hopelessness.” He argued that the deeper issue is spiritual, noting that “as a nation, our sins are so great” and that Americans have “turned our backs on God and His commands, embracing godless secularism.”

Graham called on believers to “ask His forgiveness and seek His face,” while praying for national leaders and for God to “bring calm to our streets.” He also cautioned that there are those who want to “stir things up” or even “destroy this great country,” urging Christians to pray that such plans would be brought into confusion.

Emphasizing the role of the Church, Graham asked believers to be “instruments of peace in this time of great uncertainty,” expressing confidence that millions stopping to pray, repent, and seek God together “will make a difference.”
