Franklin Graham praised Donald Trump for supporting Rededicate 250, a major Christian gathering scheduled for May 17 on the National Mall.
In a video invitation, Graham said Trump personally called for the event and is standing behind it. “This is something that President Trump called for and that he’s behind,” Graham said. He added that “the White House is working feverishly to make this happen.”
Graham described Trump’s support as unprecedented, saying, “No president in history that I know of has called for a day of rededication and prayer.” He called the event “a very special” moment of praise, prayer and thanksgiving as America approaches its 250th anniversary.
Graham urged believers to attend, saying the gathering “will probably never happen again.”
