American Idol winner Hannah Harper used one of the biggest stages in entertainment to point people to Jesus.
The 26-year-old mother of three from Missouri won the season finale and closed the night in tears singing Chris Tomlin’s worship song “At the Cross (Love Ran Red).” As confetti fell, Harper sang, “I surrender my life,” turning her victory moment into a public testimony of faith.
After the show, Harper thanked everyone who had “prayed over me” and wrote, “I’m beyond thankful for the doors the Lord has opened,” quoting Book of Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you.”
Throughout the season, Harper spoke openly about how God carried her through postpartum depression and described motherhood as “the biggest ministry” the Lord had given her.
“I’ve been in ministry since I was 9 years old,” she said. “Having a platform at this level and getting to still be this open about my relationship with the Lord is an incredible honor.”
Harper also shared that she and other contestants prayed together backstage, saying the competition involved “a lot of spiritual warfare.”
Her message to viewers was simple and powerful: “You’re never too far gone. He can meet you anywhere.”
