U.S. women’s hockey player Joy Dunne and Team USA secured a thrilling 2–1 overtime victory over Canada, winning Olympic gold for the first time since 2018. While the achievement fulfilled a lifelong dream, Dunne made it clear that her gratitude ultimately points beyond the ice.
After the victory, the Missouri native reflected not only on the honor of representing her country, but on her deeper source of strength. As she celebrated with her hometown, she said, “Thank you so much, I thank the Lord the most for everything… God is good and this is awesome.”
Though praised by coaches as a foundational player for the future of Team USA, Dunne directed the spotlight upward, crediting the Lord for her journey and success. For her, the gold medal is more than a personal or national triumph — it is a testimony of gratitude, faith, and the goodness of God.
