Christian author and commentator Megan Carl Basham shared a difficult health update, thanking those who have been praying after doctors found “a small spot” on her lung and told her to assume “it is cancer because it likely is.”
She admitted the news was hard, saying she spent days feeling “pretty down and tearful” and struggling to get out of bed.
Even so, Basham said her faith remains firm. “My God is still on his throne,” she wrote, adding that “everything He ordains for me is for my good.”
Her doctors have urged her not to panic, explaining that if it is cancer and limited to one spot, it can be removed, and that “all Stage Four is not the same,” with long-term remission still possible.
Reflecting on faith in suffering, Basham said being a Christian doesn’t mean avoiding hard days, but wrestling through fear with “the great physician.”
She said she’s been meditating on 2 Corinthians 4:16–18 and thanked supporters again, saying she continues to “covet” their prayers.
