His remarks came after Rep. Andy Ogles faced backlash for saying “Muslims don’t belong in American society.”
Johnson said the issue is not about Muslims, but about attempts to introduce a legal system that contradicts American laws and values.
Some conservative lawmakers are now pushing for a “Sharia-free America Caucus.”
