Missionary Doctor Treated for Ebola in Germany

U.S. missionary Dr. Peter Stafford is being treated in Germany after contracting Ebola while caring for patients in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where a rare strain has killed more than 130 people.

The Berlin hospital said he is “not critically ill,” though doctors warned “the course of the illness can change.” Stafford remains under close observation in a high-security isolation unit.

His wife and four children have tested negative and are asymptomatic. The children can still see their father “through a glass partition” and speak with him by intercom.

Stafford, a medical missionary with Serge, had been living in the DRC with his family when he became infected while serving others.

Pray for Stafford and his family…
