Nashville Teacher Wins Religious Accommodation

A Christian first-grade teacher in Nashville has won the right to follow his religious beliefs after a dispute with his school.

Eric Rivera, who teaches at KIPP Antioch College Prep Elementary School, was removed from his classroom after requesting a religious accommodation to avoid reading books about same-sex marriage to his students.

After legal action by First Liberty Institute, the school agreed to clear Rivera’s record and allow teachers to ask another staff member to read materials that conflict with their faith.
