Neufeld Appeals BC Human Rights Tribunal Fine

Former Chilliwack school trustee Barry Neufeld is appealing a British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal ruling that fined him $750,000 over social media posts opposing gender ideology in schools.

In his posts, Neufeld cited his Christian faith, affirming the belief that God created humans male and female and expressing concern about policies he said conflict with biblical teaching.

Neufeld described his stance as rooted in both a “pastoral” approach of compassion and a “prophetic” responsibility to speak out, comparing his role to biblical prophets who challenged cultural trends.

He argued that people of faith are increasingly marginalized for holding traditional Christian views on gender and family.
