Rapper Nicki Minaj voiced strong support for President Donald Trump during a U.S. Treasury event in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, saying she won’t be influenced by criticism or political attacks against him.
“I am probably the president’s No. 1 fan, and that’s not going to change,” Minaj said, adding that smear campaigns only motivate her to support him more.
She also told attendees, “We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him, and the smear campaigns…He has a lot behind Him, and God is protecting him.”
Minaj appeared at the event to promote the upcoming launch of new child investment accounts known as “Trump accounts.”
Under the pilot program, the federal government will deposit $1,000 into accounts for eligible children born between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2028.
Minaj has pledged to contribute between $150,000 and $300,000 to help fund the initiative.
