New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani condemned the U.S.-Israel strike on Iran that killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, calling it a “catastrophic escalation” and an “illegal war of aggression.” He argued that Americans do not want another war or regime change and warned the move could expand the conflict.
In contrast, Franklin Graham praised President Donald Trump for authorizing the strike, thanking him for confronting Iran’s regime and saying the action gives the Iranian people a chance at freedom. He also urged prayer for Trump and U.S. servicemembers involved in the operation.
