On Palm Sunday, a deadly attack in Plateau State, Nigeria left at least 26 people dead, with more victims still hospitalized after gunmen opened fire on a community.
Residents say the attackers “laid ambush on our people” and carried out a coordinated massacre, with some even dressed in military uniforms. Videos from the scene showed bodies lying out as the community struggled to process the tragedy.
By Monday, anger spilled into the streets as residents protested what they called ongoing killings and government inaction, warning they’re “tired of the violence” and demanding stronger protection.
