Pastor Greg Locke declared at his son’s memorial, “The devil will pay a hundredfold for the life that he has taken,” after the death of his 20-year-old son, Evan, following a long battle with drug addiction.
Speaking at Global Vision Bible Church, Locke told the congregation that he would not allow grief or regret to give Satan the final word.
“The enemy doesn’t win tonight. Addiction doesn’t win tonight. Death doesn’t win tonight.”
Locke said that moments after hearing the news, thoughts of “would have, should have, could have, what if” flooded his mind. But he chose to answer those lies with faith.
For the pastor, Evan’s death would not be the end of the story. Instead, he vowed that God would use this tragedy to bring freedom and healing to others.
