Televangelist Paula White-Cain drew heavy backlash after praising Donald Trump at a White House Easter lunch in a way many felt echoed Jesus.
She called Trump “the greatest champion of faith” and said she was “conveying the heart of God.” She also compared his struggles to Christ’s, saying he was “betrayed… falsely accused,” and even linked his comeback to the resurrection: “Because He rose… you rose up.”
The reaction was swift. Critics—including Christians—called the remarks “blasphemous” and “insanity,” arguing it crossed a line by mixing the Gospel with politics and elevating Trump to a near-messianic level.
