Franklin Graham is calling on Christians around the world to pray for Pastor Clive Johnston, a 78-year-old retired minister in Northern Ireland who was convicted and fined after preaching from John 3:16 near a hospital where abortions are performed.
According to Graham, Pastor Johnston “didn’t even mention abortion; he just preached the Gospel in a public space.” His legal team at The Christian Institute is expected to appeal the ruling.
Graham warned that religious freedom is under growing pressure not only in the United Kingdom, but also in the United States, Canada, and other nations. Reflecting on his work with President Donald Trump’s Religious Liberty Commission, Graham said he has heard many testimonies from people whose “lives and livelihoods have been greatly impacted” by violations of their faith.
“There is an anti-Christ spirit that is prevailing in our world today,” Graham said. “It’s as though every demon in Hell has been unleashed.”
