Purdy’s Faith-Fueled Game-Winner in Philly

Brock Purdy delivered a redemptive moment in Philadelphia, leading the San Francisco 49ers on a game-winning fourth-quarter drive to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 23–19 in the playoffs.

Despite throwing two second-half interceptions and trailing late, Purdy remained composed, guiding a 66-yard touchdown march capped by a scoring pass to Christian McCaffrey.

After the game, Purdy was asked where his confidence came from in the decisive moment. He pointed directly to his faith:

“Obviously, leaning into my faith. Understanding that I gotta hold this all loosely, but you know, go out there and do God’s will.”

“And that’s every drive. Same thing happened at the end of the game. We needed to go do it. I just kept my mind fresh and go play one play at a time, every play has a life of its own, and still have that attack mentality every single play. That’s how I did it.”
