Russell Brand strongly denied accusations of sexual assault during a recent appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, saying he is ready for the truth to come out in court.
Facing multiple charges in the U.K., Brand said, “We are going to find out the truth, and we’re going to deal with the truth. Because, actually, I am not afraid of the truth.”
Brand admitted that parts of his past sexual behavior were immoral and caused harm, but insisted he never committed illegal acts. He said he is willing “to deal with the consequences of my actions,” but not willing to accept blame for “actions that were not undertaken.”
Speaking about the possibility of prison, Brand said his faith gives him peace: “I will be with God wherever I am.” He added that if prison is what lies ahead, then he must face it without fear.
Brand, who says he is now serious about Christianity, also shared that his relationship with God has become real in life’s hardest moments.
