Student-led worship has prompted Southeastern University to cancel classes as continuous prayer and repentance fill the campus chapel, drawing comparisons to the 2023 revival at Asbury University.
The gathering began during a conference after Jennie Allen invited about 2,300 students to publicly confess their sins. For 15 minutes, students openly named struggles like fear, anger, pornography, and insecurity. Campus pastor Jonathan Rivera said the moment brought “freedom,” not shame, adding, “Something broke in the room immediately.”
Worship has continued nonstop since Wednesday night, with students leading prayer, Scripture reading, and testimonies. Many have stayed overnight in the chapel, and university leaders say there is no set timeline for when the service will end.
