Stuckey: Christians Shouldn’t Celebrate Pride Month

As Pride Month begins, Allie Beth Stuckey urged Christians to reject the LGBTQ movement’s view of sexuality and identity, arguing that believers should approach LGBT issues through the lens of Scripture rather than contemporary culture.

Stuckey said Christians should not see the LGBTQ acronym as a collection of identities to celebrate, but as people made in God’s image who, like all sinners, need the truth of the Gospel. While emphasizing compassion toward LGBT individuals, she maintained that homosexuality and transgender identities are contrary to God’s design and should not be affirmed by Christians.

Pointing to Matthew 19, Stuckey argued that God created humanity “male and female” and established marriage exclusively between one man and one woman. She said biblical teaching on marriage is rooted in creation, repeated throughout Scripture, and reflects Christ’s relationship with the Church.

“The most loving thing we can always do is agree with God,” she said, rejecting the idea that affirming LGBT identities is an expression of Christian love. According to Stuckey, Christians cannot celebrate Pride Month because they believe God defines both sexuality and marriage, and that true love must be grounded in biblical truth.

Stuckey also warned that Christians who uphold traditional biblical views on LGBT issues should expect criticism and accusations of intolerance. However, she encouraged believers to remain faithful to Scripture, engage culture with grace and truth, and continue sharing the Gospel with those who disagree.
