A house fire in Clinton County, Ohio, killed a mother and her five young children while they were believed to be asleep.
The children’s father, Tommy, survived but was hospitalized with serious lung injuries and placed on a ventilator.
Eight firefighters were also treated for smoke inhalation after battling the blaze, which was so intense that parts of the home’s staircase collapsed, preventing rescue efforts upstairs.
