During his State of the Union address, President Donald Trump spoke of what he described as a growing religious resurgence in the United States, saying there has been a “tremendous renewal in religion, faith, Christianity and belief in God,” particularly among young people. He credited the late conservative influencer Charlie Kirk with helping inspire renewed interest in faith.
Trump noted that Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, was present in the House Gallery, prompting chants of “Charlie.” Trump urged national unity in Kirk’s memory, calling on Americans to reaffirm that the country is “one nation under God” and to reject political violence of any kind.
