During last night’s State of the Union address at the U.S. Capitol, President Donald J. Trump honored two West Virginia National Guardsmen with the Purple Heart.
Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe received the medal in person. The late Spc. Sarah Beckstrom was also posthumously awarded the Purple Heart in recognition of her sacrifice.
The prestigious honor is given to service members wounded or killed in action, acknowledging their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the nation.
