The White House is backing a major Christian prayer gathering on the National Mall as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebrations.
The event, “Rededicate 250: National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving,” will feature nine hours of worship and prayer led by pastors, Christian leaders, and several senior government officials.
White House faith adviser Paula White-Cain said the purpose is to honor the nation’s biblical heritage and to encourage Americans to seek God together. “This is really truly rededicating the country to God,” she said.
Officials including House Speaker Mike Johnson, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth are expected to participate.
