A Ten Commandments monument was unveiled at the Tarrant County Courthouse, county leaders said the monument reflects principles that shaped American history.
“God is moving! And reminding our nation of the true history and traditions of America founded on Scripture.” WallBuilders wrote on social media.
At the same time, critics gathered nearby, holding signs and voicing concerns about church–state separation. Among them was Ryon Price, pastor of Broadway Baptist Church, who said the monument conflicts with the First Amendment and the nation’s commitment to religious neutrality.
The unveiling comes amid broader debate in Texas over public displays of the Ten Commandments, including a recent state law requiring them in public school classrooms — a measure later blocked by a federal judge as unconstitutional.
